Amy Gaston

Director of Education

 

Mrs. Gaston has been with the Marion Center Area School District for the past 17 years.  She earned her Bachelors degree in Special Education at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  She started her teaching career at Mars Home for Youth in Mars Pennsylvania working with adjudicated youth.  In 2002, she was hired at the ARIN Intermediate Unit as an Elementary Learning Support Teacher at Canoe-Grant Elementary School.  Mrs. Gaston was later hired by the Marion Center Area School District when their special education services were taken over by the district.  She taught at the Jr./Sr. High School and served as the Special Education Transition Coordinator for eight years.  She earned her Masters in Educational Leadership at St. Francis University.  After completing her supervisory certificate in Special Education, she moved into the Supervisor of Special Education position and completed her Principal certification.  At the start of the 2017-2018 school year, Mrs. Gaston was assigned as the Director of Education, which combined the positions of Supervisor of Special Education and the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment.
