School District Hiring Policy

The Marion Center Area School Board of Directors has adopted a District Hiring Policy aligned with state statutes. In -accordance with the Marion Center Area School District's Hiring Policies and Procedures applications will only be accepted if and when an opening exists and shall be kept on file until the position is filled. Marion Center Area School District will no longer maintain an on-going active file of applicants. Advertising for a specific opening will create an applicant pool when an open position occurs within the district.

The Marion Center Area School District is currently seeking the positions listed below for the 2019-2020 school year. Interested applicants please submit the following information through PAeducator.net: Cover letter, Resume, PA Standard Teaching Application, Clearances (Act 34, Act 151, Act 24, and Act 114/ Fingerprinting), 3 Letters of Reference, as well as your PA Certification or Act 36 letter.

 

Instructional Specialist with a focus in Mathematics 

The Marion Center Area School District is seeking a dynamic leader to support instructional practices in the area of mathematics for the 2019-2020 school year.  Candidates must have extensive experience and knowledge in standards-based instruction, data based decision making, and effective classroom instructional practices and strategies.  This individual will be responsible for identifying root cause issues within the district's math programs and practices, reviewing and writing math curriculum, modeling classroom instruction, providing meaningful feedback to teachers through observation and in-service activities, and assisting with other administrative tasks.  Candidates must have at least 5 years of teaching experience, a PA Mathematics certification, and a supervisory certificate (Principal or Curriculum and Instruction).  The application deadline for this position is August 7, 2019.  Please call the Administrative Office at 724-397-5551 Ext. 5408 for any further information.    

 

Chemistry Certified Long-term Substitute

English/Mid-Level ELA Certified Long-term Substitute

The Marion Center Area School District is seeking applicants for a long term English position August 2019 through January 2020.  Candidates must have secondary or mid-level English certification.  Please call the Administrative Office at 724-397-5551 Ext. 5408 for more information. 

 

Secondary Learning Support Instructional Assistant

The Marion Center Area School District is seeking applicants for a secondary level Instructional Assistant that can support students in senior high academics.  Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in secondary subject matter through a competency exam to be considered for this position. Applications are due in the Administrative Office by August 7, 2019.

 

2 Americorps Members to provide Academic Support

 

The Marion Center Area School District is seeking applicants for 2 1200-Hour Americorps positions starting August 20, 2019 and ending June 12, 2020.  The position is 32 hours/per week.  Members receive a $654.00 bi-weekly stipend and an educational award of $4,266.50 earned at the conclusion of the term of service.  Health insurance is available at no cost if needed.  A child-care stipend is available to income eligible members.  Interested applicants may apply by calling the Education Office at 724-397-5551 Ext. 5408 by Aug 19, 2019.
