Pre-K Registration 18-19

PreK Counts Registration 2018-2019

The Marion Center Area School District is planning to offer the PA Pre-K Counts program for the 18-19 school year, pending receiving the Pre-K Counts grant.  This pre-kindergarten program focuses on the development of the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual skills of young children.  The District is hopeful to receive the grant to run 3 full day programs, which would allow 60 children to attend.  According to grant guidelines, families who meet the income eligibility requirements described below will fill seats first.  Children of families who do not meet eligibility criteria will be taken on a first come, first serve basis for the 18-19 school year to fill the remainder of seats.  Only 60 seats are available.

Children who will be four (4) years of age prior to September 1, 2018, are eligible to apply for admittance to the program.  This program is partially funded by the Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts Grant. Should you wish to have your child considered for the program, please complete the form below.  All students entered into the program will receive a Life Steps Screening.

Please return the “Pre-Registration Form” as soon as possible.  Upon receipt of the pre-registration form, you will receive an enrollment packet to complete.  Please return the packet to McCreery Elementary School.

Once you receive your registration packet, you must complete the PA Pre-K Counts Application which documents household income and poverty levels.  Household income will be documented using copies of your 2017 Form 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ.  Income documentation will not be returned. If you are not required to file a Form 1040, please contact the elementary office at 724-397-5551 ext. 1010 in advance of registration to make arrangements for providing substitute documentation.  Address documentation will include: a driver’s license, a utility bill, or a PA Dept. of Transportation vehicle registration.  Your signature, as well as, a District Business Office signature verifying income and risk factors will be a required component of the Pre-K registration process in April.  Information will be maintained by the District Business Office and the elementary school clerical staff.  Copies of your child’s birth certificate and immunization records are also required for registration.

When a child is accepted into the program, class size and bus routes will determine the building of attendance. Transportation and equalizing class sizes are primary considerations for building assignments. Individual meetings will be held with the teacher once building assignments have been completed.

Pre-K routes from the previous school term are no longer valid once the current term ends.  New bus routes are developed each year. These routes are developed based on the location of each attendee’s residence. Daycare may be accommodated if it is on 2018-2019 scheduled PA Pre-K Counts bus routes.

Building assignment for PA Pre-K Counts does not necessarily mean that your child will attend that same building the rest of his/her elementary school years.  A list of certified daycare facilities is available upon request.  If you have any questions, please contact:
