Marion Center Area School District is proud to have received the 2026 Child Hunger Hero Bronze Award from the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.
This recognition highlights the importance of ensuring students have access to nutritious food and the support they need to succeed. The district’s food service department plays an important role in meeting students’ nutritional needs throughout the school year and during the summer months.
“We are honored to receive this recognition. Ensuring that our students have access to nutritious meals is a priority for the Marion Center Area School District, even when school is not in session during the summer months. We are especially grateful for the continued support of the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and our local community partners, whose generosity and commitment help us meet the needs of our students and families throughout the year,” said Superintendent Clint Weimer.
The district is especially proud of its cafeteria staff, whose hard work and dedication help provide students with nutritious meals every day.

I would like to say thank you to our wonderful cafeteria staff for all the hard work they put in every day to make each meal special for our students here at Marion Center. They are real Hunger Heroes. As K-12 food service professionals, we are dedicated to feeding hungry students and fueling them with nutritious meals each and every day,” said the district’s Nutrition Services Director, Lindsay Phillips.
