Staff and students gathered today, February 10th, to launch the kickoff of the American Heart Association's Jump Rope for Heart challenge.
On Friday, January 27th, the W. A. McCreery Rayne Elementary Kindergarten classes hosted Guided Reading Workshops for students and their parents. Classrooms were filled as parents worked with small groups to help learn reading fundimentails.
Our staff and students have been busy decorating their classrooms and hallways as the Marion Center Elementary Schools prepare to hold open houses this week.
On a bright and sunny May 24th, staff and students of Rayne Elementary participated in a fun filled, heart healthy, day of events.
On May 25th, 2016, Pennsylvania State Senator Don White visited sixth grade students at Rayne Elementary. His visit was in response to letters written by four students as part of a class project.
On Tuesday, April 26th, 5th grade students from Rayne Elementary received a vivid presentation sharing an experience of the Holocaust as seen through the eyes of a survivor. The group of 44 students hung onto every word as they sat and listened.
Student art projects from both elementary school were on display Wednesday evening, May 18th at Rayne Elementary School as students and their parents attended a light reception.
On Friday, April 1st, our Rayne Elementary students received an interactive lesson and visit from the ZOOmobile team members of the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium. Students were treated to a program called “Radical Reptiles” and entered the world of reptilian wonders to discover the amazing adaptations that enable them to survive through the ages.
