Math 3-6: (35 minutes)

Fluency (15 minutes)

Practice (20 minutes)

  • 3rd Grade-6th Grade
    • ACTIVITY!  Attached in the 3rd-6th grade resources is a “Take Home Toolkit” for Multiplication and Division for you to practice their facts with them at home.  Students will shade in facts that they prove that they know and will practice only the facts that they struggle with! There are games included for you to play with your child to practice the facts too!
    • This website is a wonderful resource for practicing skills from this year.  It is free for students and you can sign them up for an account when you go to the website.  The skills that they will practice cover a variety of topics and the children are engaged with a cartoon video-game type feel as they complete missions to gain rewards.  There are some challenges and some easy spots which keeps them playing! I encourage approximately 20 minutes per day of play time on the site.
    • This website acts as a minds-on tutor for students all the way through high school math concepts should your child struggle with any concept.  I encourage you to keep this one handy now and in the future. Teachers explain strategies step by step and in helpful ways to help students understand the concepts they may have misunderstood in class!
    • Multiplication facts up to 12x12 and division facts up to 144÷12
    • Review math skills and concepts from this academic year

Science/Social Studies - Possibly Alternate Daily

Learning the concept (15 minutes)

  • ACTIVITY!  Draw a picture of the lab experiment that you watched and write a 3-5 sentence summary of the results.  What surprised you? Did the experiment turn out as expected? Did anything go differently than they planned?  What did you think was going to happen? Don’t forget to name your artwork!
  • ACTIVITY!  Create a lab experiment that you would like to do!  What materials would you need? What are your procedures?  What is your hypothesis? What is a hypothesis? You do not have to complete the experiment but if you do, what results did you get?  How did it go differently than you expected in your hypothesis? Write a 3-5 sentence summary of your results and draw a picture to go along with it!

Hands-on learning/experiments/lab experiences from the videos (20 minutes)

Virtual Tours! (all grades)

  • ACTIVITY!  Take one virtual tour each week and write a letter to someone in your family about why they should take it too!  Details are very important here. The letter should include some of the things that you saw!
  • ACTIVITY!  Create a postcard from your experience!  What does a postcard have? Research that or ask a family member!  How is it different from a letter? Create this as if you were at the location of your virtual tour!  (Send it to a local nursing home and the residents will experience your trip as well.)
