Planned Instruction K - 6
Planned Instruction for Elementary Students
The Marion Center Area School District will be moving to a Planned Instruction approach following the directive of PDE that ALL schools are expected to provide Planned Instruction for the remainder of the school year.
Marion Center’s start date is April 27, 2020.
Expectations will be as follows:
- Online students Grades K – 4 will continue using the i-Ready program with the expectation to complete at least 1 Math and 1 Reading lesson each school day. Students may work more, if they choose. Writing assignments will be pushed to students and parents through the Classroom Dojo App To Do List. Information on i-Ready and Classroom Dojo can be found in the tab to the right.
- Online students Grades 5 – 6 will continue using the i-Ready program with the expectation to complete at least 1 Math and 1 Reading lesson each school day. Students may work more, if they choose. Writing assignments will be pushed to students and parents through the Classroom Dojo App To Do List in grades 5 – 6 and through Google Classroom in Grades 7 - 8. Students will access their Science and Social Studies classes through Google Classroom. Classroom codes can be found in the tab Science/Social Studies Online 5 - 8 to the right.
- Students Grades K – 6 will continue working on the packets that were issued on April 13th. Required work will follow the last two weeks of the 20 Day Calendar that was included in the packet. New packets will be distributed on Monday, May 11th. These packets will last throughout the remainder of the school year. Reading, Writing and Language, and Math packets will be collected and reviewed for completion. Although we encourage students to complete the activities, Special Area Classes, Independent Reading Activities and Phonics Activities (K-2) will not be collected or tracked for completion.
- Students in grades 5 and 6 will follow the same requirements listed above and will also be required to complete the Science and Social Studies lessons provided within the packets.
K – 6 Packets can be printed from the website (not recommended due to the amount of printing) or picked up in the HS Auditorium entrance at your convenience. If packets cannot be dropped off during scheduled times, they need to be dropped in the drop boxes provided in the HS Auditorium entrance or at the Rayne Elementary entrance.
